Day 10 - FINSIHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No blog again yesterday. I just wanted to fully concentrate on my assignment.

I HAVE FINISHED!!!! YAYYYY.

As much as I moaned throughout these blogs about all of the information etc, I have really enjoyed this assignment. Especially because it’s on a topic I am interested in, but I also think that the 3 different elements of the assignment helped. When you wanted to do something different you could work on your website or write a blog. It was really good.

I completely forgot to mention on Wednesday that I had finished my website! I’m really pleased with it. It may lack certain things but as I mentioned in previous posts, I did this for a reason.

Fingers crossed I have met all of the requirements to pass!

Day 8 - Back to it.

I didn’t do a blog yesterday. I decided I needed a break in order to clear my head and see things straighter when I started again. I also didn’t attend the lecture today – I wasn’t being lazy, I just know myself enough to know what environments I work best in and I knew that the lecture room was not the right one. I need to be in a quiet place, where you could hear a pin drop, with now one around me. I’m so easily distracted. Sorry Glenn!

However I have managed to get over half of my assignment completed. That break I had yesterday really helped and I was able to look at my assignment in a different way. Hopefully this will benefit me!

Day 7 - Second blog of the day.

Second blog of the day! Not quite sure how I’m still going. But I need to get this sorted once and for all so I can really focus on finishing my assignment.

I have read over the information I have found and I’m starting to think that it may not be relevant. Most of the information I have included I already know myself. It very difficult to find information that you know yourself but in a theoretical form.

It’s annoying because I spent most of my time finding all this information, to now find out that it isn't really relevant and it doesn't make and explain the point I want to put across.

Day 7 - Where has the time gone?!

I cannot believe that I have been writing a blog for the last 7 days. Time is flying by. I have actually quite enjoyed it, I have always been interested in starting my own blog.

I have noticed that some of the company’s websites I use have their own blog. Their employees write daily blogs on certain trends that are upcoming or reviews on certain products. I definitely think that these forms of interaction affects customers buying patterns.

I’m finally starting to get somewhere with my assignment. I have started my introduction, but still seem to find myself staring at the screen wondering what information I’m going to included. Mind blown!

Day 6 - Work work work uni work uni uni work work work.

Today has been a very busy day work wise, so there is little to none motivation to now start on my assignment again. I have begun to create an order in which I would like my assignment to go in, sorted out my references and also the pictures and tables I am going to include.

I have mainly got most of my information from a book within Athens. I only have two other references. This worries me but the information is relevant and in depth – which many other sources I came across didn’t have.

Day 5 - The Struggle is Real...

I have been struggling with my assignment today. Trying to figure out what to put in and what not to put in is difficult as it is all so relevant. I think it would help if the assignment word restriction was made bigger. Some people will probably hate me for saying that but its true!

I think I just need to use the information I have got so far because if I get anymore I am just going to stress myself out. Wish me luck!

Day 4 - Power is Knowledge.

Another day conducting research and I have found out more information regarding e-commerce that I did not know.  A friend recently said to me ‘Power is knowledge’ and I have gained a further understanding of what this means now. There is so much information available to us and we do not take advantage of this.

In last week’s lecture I really began to focus on creating my website and I thought that what I had done so far was quite good. However the more I research the more things I find to include and the reasons why; for example a testimonials page. A journal I found on google scholar explained why they are so important and how they encourage customers to buy your products.

This caused me to told hold back from adding this to my website, as I wanted to demonstrate in my assignment what was missing and the implications this would cause.

Day 3 - In depth research.

As I begin my assignment, I realise that there is so much to know about E-commerce and how difficult it is to try and fit all of this information into 1000 words. There is so much to talk about and so many different aspects that are unknown to many people.

From some of the small business websites I have looked at to try and further develop the website I am currently creating, it is clear to me that many people believe that buying a domain is the furthest you can go. This realisation also became clear when helping with my father’s company website. Some of my other colleagues didn’t realise that there are many more things that must be done in order for a website to become successful and receive viewers. For example, it is important that a company’s website becomes part of one of the many search engines available. If they don’t, how will customers ever find your business?

It is easy enough to type into google a company’s name, however if customers are not aware of the services a business provides then how will that particular website ever be found? Instead customers will visit competitors websites and ultimately other companies will lose out.

Day 2 - Beginning my Research.

Due to my previous studies within GCSE and A-Level, I have obtained a beginners knowledge to how important the internet will be to all business within the upcoming years. My current job role is within my Fathers business, helping to develop his businesses website to father his company and through this I have gained an understanding of what is needed to be done in order for a website to work, to be noticed and to meet your customers need.

While trying to find theories for the knowledge I have gained, I found it interesting to find out just how much E-commerce has developed, and how it is a much bigger part of everyone’s lives than I first initially thought.

Day 1 of Website Research.

I have really been looking forward to starting this particular assignment for university. I love researching how certain things in this world can positively and negatively affect a business. Business has interested me from a young age, starting in secondary school when I took Business Studies as an option. My father owns his own successful business and I have always wanted to be a part of it. The constant adrenaline rush that you feel as being part of a business and all the different aspects you have to take into consideration excites me. I am hoping that these following blog post will show my passion and develop it further.
